Naoto Ohtake is president and chief executive officer at Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo).
Before his current position, Ohtake was director-general of the Institute of Innovative Research (IIR) and director of the Organization for Fundamental Research at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) from 2022 to 2024. He was also an IIR professor from 2018 to 2024.
Ohtake earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering from Tokyo Tech in 1986, 1988, and 1992, respectively. From 1989 to 2000, he was with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Science at Tokyo Tech, first as an assistant professor, then as an associate professor. During this period, he was also a visiting associate professor at the University of Minnesota’s Department of Mechanical Engineering from 1995 to 1996.
From 2000 to 2006, Ohtake was an associate professor at Tokyo Tech’s Department of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering. In 2006, he joined the Department of Materials, Physics, and Energy Engineering at Nagoya University as an associate professor. He returned to Tokyo Tech’s Department of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering in 2009, where he became a professor the following year. He also served as advisor to the Tokyo Tech president from 2012 to 2015.
“Shinichi Yamamoto graduated from the University of Tokyo (B.A. in Law) in 1972 and later received an M.A. in Policy Science and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Studies from the University of Tsukuba. He joined the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, where he was involved in the reform of higher and secondary education, and was also involved in the establishment of the University of Tsukuba and the Open University of Japan. In 1992, he moved to the University of Tsukuba as a faculty member and served as Director/Professor of the Research Center for University Studies, Director/Professor of Hiroshima University’s Research Institute for Higher Education, and Dean/Professor of the Graduate School at J. F. Oberlin University before retiring in 2019.
His specialty is the theory of higher education systems, including higher education policy/management.
Among his many publications, his recent works include “”The Making of Doctoral Supervisors (Stan Taylor et. al. ed. 2021, co-written),”” “”Higher Education Reform: Education Looking Back- Looking Forward (Pavel Zgaga et. al. ed. 2015, co-written)”” and “”Higher Education in the Reiwa Era (Vol. 1, Vol. 2), (Shinichi Yamamoto, 2024 written in Japanese)””.”
“Kin-Leong joined the NEOM U in Saudi Arabia in February 2024 as a Senior Vice-Provost for Students Success. Kin-Leong previously was appointed by the Singapore Ministry of Education as the founding Associate Provost for Education to set up the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in 2010. He was the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Chair Professor in Healthcare Engineering at SUTD from May 2019 to April 2023. Before joining SUTD, he was the Head of the Microelectronics Division at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and worked in the semiconductor industry for about 8 years.
Kin-Leong received his Bachelor of Engineering (1989) and PhD (1994) in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He is a senior member of IEEE, a Fellow of the ASEAN Academy of Engineering & Technology and Fellow of the Institute of Engineer, Singapore.
Kin-Leong has published more than 254 international refereed publications, 256 technical papers at international meetings/conferences, 6 book chapters and holds 40 US patents. He has graduated 36 PhD and more than 16 Master theses.
Kin-Leong received a Singapore Public Administration Medal (Silver), National Day Awards in 2016 and the COVID-19 Resilience Medal (CRM) in 2023. “
Dr. Alison Elizabeth Lloyd is the Associate Provost (Institutional Data and Research) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), where she leads the Office of Institutional Data and Research, driving data-informed decision-making and university analytics. She also serves as the University’s Risk Officer, ensuring institutional resilience by identifying and mitigating risks across all categories.
Within the Provost Office, Dr. Lloyd oversees the Transformation Team, which focuses on digital transformation, process design and re-engineering, and organizational design to enhance institutional efficiency. She also leads the Faculty Affairs Team, responsible for operational and strategic initiatives supporting faculty recruitment, development, and alignment with the University’s goals.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education and management consulting, Dr. Lloyd has held leadership roles at Hong Kong Baptist University and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, spearheading evidence-based decision-making and international affairs. Prior to academia, she worked in strategy, business process re-engineering, and change management across the Asia Pacific region. She also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Giordano International Limited and a Board Director of a social enterprise promoting multicultural education.
Dr Sean McMinn is the Director of the Center for Education Innovation at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). His role includes leading the development of digital education, including AI for education initiatives, at the university. Sean also currently sits on multiple international committees, including the AI and Education International Panel, Digital Education Council, and the Cyber-Physical Learning Alliance. He has won various awards for his work in digital education, including the 2024 Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance (GMA) Award for his work in AI Education, the 2016 School of Humanities and Social Science (SHSS) Teaching Excellence Award and the 2007 Teaching Innovation Award for his work with podcasts and education at HKUST.
Dr Wolfgang Muench is a media artist and arts educator. He holds the position of Dean, Learning, Teaching & Research at LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore. His research is concerned with issues surrounding sociocultural and societal impacts and effects of media technology and human-computer interfaces. His interactive artworks, including Bubbles (with K. Furukawa) and Small Fish (with K. Furukawa and M. Fujihata), have been shown at numerous international media art exhibitions and festivals across Europe, America, and Asia. In 2017, he received his PhD in Theatre, Film and Media Studies from the University of Vienna.
Dr. Damaris Carlisle is an education specialist and advocate for inclusive learning. She serves as the Lecturer-in-Charge of The Learning Centre at LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore. Her research focuses on the challenges faced by learners with special educational needs in higher education and the role of digital tools in enhancing accessibility. Dr. Carlisle’s work emphasises personalised approaches that empower students to achieve their academic and artistic goals. In 2021, she earned her Doctorate in Education from the University of Western Australia, further deepening her expertise in supporting diverse learners in tertiary education.
“Associate Professor Tsoi Mun Heng is a Director in the Office of the President at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). His responsibilities include strategic planning, crisis management and business continuity, safety and health, and space planning and allocation. Previously, he was involved in the planning of the Punggol campus of SIT, which is completing in 2025. Prior to this, he was the Vice President for Planning, and before that, the Senior Director for Academic Analysis and Planning. Associate Professor Tsoi is also a member of the academic staff in the Engineering Cluster of SIT.
Prior to joining SIT, A/Prof Tsoi was at the National Research Foundation, the Ministry of Defence and the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
He is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.”
Dr Omer Yezdani has led strategy, data & analytics, technology and risk in public, private and social enterprise for over 20 years, and advises on business transformation, strategy, data analytics and risk. After commencing his career with a global technology firm, Omer went on to work in the Federal Government for over a decade leading several major education and youth policy and program reforms. A recognised data and analytics leader in higher education, Omer is the Chief Data Officer at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Ethan Chong Yih Tng works in the areas of sustainable development and engineering design. As the Head of Sustainability (Education and Research) in the Office of the Provost at SIT (Singapore Institute of Technology), Associate Prof Chong develops SIT’s overall strategy for educational programmes in sustainability, while extending and synergizing applied research activities related to sustainability. He envisions an industry driven by cutting-edge technologies, and a continuous-learning paradigm founded upon the requirements of the future economy. In SIT, Dr Chong also supports the industry in developing solutions and manpower through training, consultation, and R&D.
Associate Prof Tan Lay Poh is a faculty in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is also the inaugural Co-Director of the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) in NTU. Besides being an established researcher in the field of biomaterials, she is also actively involved in teaching and innovating education both in her classes as well as the Co-Director in ICC. For her effort in education innovation and leadership, she has been awarded the Nanyang Education Award (College) in 2023 and Educator of the Year, Nanyang Education Award (University, Gold Award) in 2024. She is also a Fellow in the Teaching Excellence Academy in NTU.
Dr Jingwen Mu is the Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Planning at Hong Kong Baptist University. She leads the effort to spearhead the use of business intelligence and analytics to support the advancement of the University and the implementation of its strategic plan. She is a university rankings expert and has been closely involved in a wide array of ranking and benchmarking initiatives. She has been consulting for the World Bank on the Sub-Saharan Africa Benchmarking Initiative since 2015 and on the Saudi Arabia Education Program since 2023. Prior to her current role, Jingwen served as the Senior Global Strategy Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and Strategic Planning Manager at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and led the Auckland Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) mapping initiative. She headed the consulting team at ShanghaiRanking Consultancy from 2015 to 2018, and was responsible for developing ShanghaiRanking’s consulting frameworks and leading the consulting initiatives across universities in China and overseas.
Devi is the Head of SMU’s Centre for Social Responsibility (C4SR). She leads her centre in guiding and mentoring SMU’s undergraduates in their community service initiatives, facilitating their service and learning outcomes and in curating sustained projects with meaningful long-term impact. Devi was part of the Co-Curriculum Workgroup of the SMU Blue Ribbon Commission on Undergraduate Education and led the enhancement of the university’s community service programme to become a credit-bearing requirement for SMU’s undergraduates with effect from 2019. Through the enhanced programme, Devi has guided her team to adopt a strength-based approach to community service, where students are introduced to needs analysis, asset mapping and sustainability principles when curating community service initiatives.
Devi was previously a Senior Assistant Director with the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) and a Senior Manager with the Singapore Indian Development Association (SINDA). She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Business Administration. Devi has more than 20 years of experience in direct services, volunteer management, corporate and community partnerships, youth development and programme curation.
Chris Knollman is a strategy and data analytics professional with a background in IT consulting and project management. His recent work at Hong Kong Baptist University focuses on enhancing university performance by leveraging data analytics and digital tools to drive sustainability education.
Working in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, Chris has played a pivotal role in strategically profiling and elevating the institution’s global standings. His efforts have led to notable advancements in the Impact Ranking and QS Sustainability Ranking, enhancing the university’s reputation and commitment to sustainability.
Chris’s approach to data-informed decision making has enabled the university to identify key areas for improvement, implement effective strategies, and track progress meticulously.
“Yeng Siang is an academic leader and higher education professional with over 18 years of experience in higher education policy, strategy, and administration. As the Deputy Director at the Office of the Provost, Singapore Institute of Technology, Yeng Siang oversees academic policies, programme reviews, and academic governance, ensuring alignment of academic development with institutional objectives and industry needs.
Previously, Yeng Siang served as the Deputy Director at the Registrar’s Office, where he led a team to manage the secretariat to the Board of Examiners and handled student discipline matters. Yeng Siang led the initiative to harmonise SIT’s undergraduate programmes, enhancing degree structures to better equip students for the future.
Recognising the growing importance of lifelong learning, Yeng Siang is currently refining a degree framework that integrates pre-employment training (PET) and continuing education and training (CET). By incorporating stackable micro-credentials, this initiative aims to provide flexible learning pathways for both fresh school leavers and adult learners. “
Dr (JD). Guwuck Bu is a renowned lawyer and served as a judge at the Korean national and regional courts for about two decades before being appointed the president at Y’sU (Youngsan University). He is the former chair of the Korean council for university education (KCUE), a national association of Korean universities, and also served as the chair of the Korean association of private university presidents. He received his B.A. & M.A(J.D) in law from Seoul National University in the area of civil law in 1974 and 1979, respectively. He received an honorary doctoral degree in law (L.L.D) from Hanyang University in 2001.
Taehee Kim is a professor in the Department of Game and VR at Youngsan University. He earned his Ph.D. in AI from the University of Edinburgh in 1996 before joining the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. Since 1999, he has been a professor at Youngsan University.
As an extension of his AI research, Prof. Kim pursued fine art within a rich philosophical context to explore the relationships between the body, mind, and the world. In 2010, he earned an MFA in Digital+Media from the Rhode Island School of Design. He currently works at the intersection of art and technology, focusing on education and entertainment.
Dr Masao Mori is a professor at Institute of Science Tokyo. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from Kyushu University in 2011. He established the International Conference on Data Science and Institutional Research and the International Journal of Institutional Research and Management, of which he is the editor-in-chief. He is a pioneering researcher and practitioner of institutional research and assessment support at Kyushu University from 2006 to 2015 and now at Tokyo Institute of Technology since 2015. He is currently the director of the Institutional Research Section of Science Tokyo and the president of the Japan Association of Institutional Research.
Dr. Toru Sugihara is an Associate Professor at Shukutoku University, working at the Center for Research and Development of Higher Education. His specialties are educational informatics, data science education, and Institutional Research.
He is a Full-time lecturer at the Center for Learning and Teaching Innovation(LTI Ctr), Kanda University of International Studies. After working for an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT) and as an Institutional Research(IR) professional at Hosei University, He took up his current position in April 2021. He is currently focusing on research into human resources and organizations involved in institutional research in Japan, and data science education for non-STEM students. He is one of the authors of the book “Standard Guidebook for University IR: Know-how and Practice of Institutional Research” published in 2022 in Japan, and has previously served as the chair of the 12th Meeting on Japanese Institutional Research(MJIR 2023) and as a board member of the Japan Association for Institutional Research(JAIR). He has completed graduate school in regional and population development and in higher education. He holds a master’s degree in policy studies and education.
Tsunenori Inakura currently works at the office of Institute Strategy, Science Institute of Tokyo.
Tsunenori has received his PhD from Kyoto University Faculty of Science Department of Physics.
His research has included institutional research and nuclear physics.
While his early career focused on nuclear physics, he has turned his attention to the application of category theory in database systems in institutional research.
His current focus on categorical databases represents an innovative approach to data management.
Takeshi Matsuda, Ph.D, is a professor at the University Education Center, Tokyo Metropolitan University, where he heads the technical section of institutional research. He served as the first president of the Japan Association for Institutional Research and worked as an analyst at Directorate for Education and Skills of the OECD. Prior to joining TMU, he worked for Keio University, Aoyama Gakuin University, Yamagata University, and Shimane University. His specialty is educational engineering and institutional research. His career has focused on online learner support, educational data mining, and visualization of learning data.
Roy Tan was appointed Chief Agility Officer at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2024. He has led the NUS Agility Office (AO) since 2021 and was previously Director of the Organisational Excellence Transformation Unit, AO’s predecessor.
As Chief Agility Officer, Roy spearheads strategic projects and change initiatives across NUS’ corporate, academic, research and infrastructure clusters to enhance the University’s agility. This includes leading systems thinking efforts, aligning and streamlining processes, and conducting organisational structure reviews. Under Roy’s leadership, AO has launched several key initiatives, including the university-wide Organisational Agility Survey, the consolidation of University services and resources through platforms such as the NUService Hub and uNivUS app, strategic change management for policy and system reforms, strategic reviews of administration units, and the Co-creating the Future of Work initiative.
Roy has more than a decade of experience in space planning and management. Prior to his role at AO, Roy was Deputy Director at NUS’ University Campus Infrastructure unit (UCI), leading the formulation and implementation of various campus processes, guidelines and standards in campus planning. Notably, from 2005 to 2006, Roy managed the restoration and preservation of the historical NUS Bukit Timah campus.
Roy holds a Master of Design from the University of New South Wales, and a Master of Business Administration from NUS Business School. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
Dr. Shotaro Imai is an associate professor at Center for Information Infrastructure, Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan. He is working on university reform through Digital Transformation (DX). Reformation of administrative works to advance data flow and structure by using the methodology of Business Process Management. He originally obtained his Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics in 2013. He started work as a specially appointed assistant professor at Hokkaido University from 2015 to 2019 to teach transferable competency to graduate students through active-learning methods such as Team-based-learning and project-based-learning and gain experience in facilitation skills and project management skills. To assess and evaluate the learning outcome, he has started work on institutional research. In 2020, he moved to his current university and was promoted to his current position in 2022.
Gerry oversees both campus development and facilities management in SIT. He led the development of SIT’s smart and sustainable campus in Punggol Town, beginning with master planning of the campus in 2014, right through construction and its completion in 2024. Prior to Punggol Campus, Gerry led in the development of SIT’s satellite campuses in each of the 5 Polytechnics in Singapore and refurbishment of a holding campus in Dover.
Gerry has more than 35 years in consultancy, project management and facilities management. He has been involved in master planning and project management of large-scale developments and campuses such as the Batam Industrial Park, Changi Naval Base, the Nanyang Technological University Campus and the Institute of Mental Health. Gerry’s experience in overseas projects includes developing chanceries and residences in Riyadh, New Delhi and Phnom Penh for the Singapore government.
Gerry holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Singapore and is a Registered Architect with the Board of Architects. He currently sits on the tenders board of the National Kidney Foundation, a non-profit health organization.
“Pang Chong Ning is a seasoned procurement executive with over 30 years of experience across industries such as higher education, flavour & fragrance and food packaging. Currently serving as the Chief Procurement Officer at the National University of Singapore (NUS), he oversees a procurement portfolio and leads a team of over 90 professionals.
At NUS, Chong Ning spearheaded a Sustainable Procurement Framework, achieving 75% ESG compliance among top-tier suppliers. He has driven cross-institutional collaborations, resulting in over S$120 million in collective spend across Singapore’s Autonomous Universities.
Previously, Chong Ning held senior roles at Symrise AG and Givaudan, managing procurement strategies across Asia-Pacific and overseeing multi-million-dollar budgets. His leadership optimised procurement processes and integrated sustainable sourcing practices across regions.
Chong Ning holds a Bachelor of Business (Distinction) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and an MBA in Strategy from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. With expertise in procurement strategy, supplier management and sustainability, he provides strategic guidance to complex procurement challenges.”
During her career in higher education administration, Jenny developed a focus on streamlining processes to boost efficiency. She enjoys finding ways to streamline workflows, often using automation to reduce errors and eliminate repetitive tasks. Through her work on various projects, Jenny has made small but meaningful improvements to existing systems. In this forum, she hopes to share her experiences and learn from others facing similar challenges, believing that collaboration and shared insights can benefit everyone.
Anson is the Assistant Director, Office of Institutional Data and Research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He has over a decade of experience in the institutional research domain, and has a special interest in strategic performance analytics and scientometrics.
He led several high-impact initiatives in data platforms and process re-engineering at HKUST and beyond, showcasing his commitment to transforming institutions in the data and digital space. Recent works include advisory roles in the University’s research information management system, development of an evidence-based performance assessment, and in-depth profiling of faculty and research talents. He has been invited to share his experiences and insights in institutional analytics with international peers and partners such as Elsevier and Alteryx.
When not immersing himself in the rapidly evolving space of analytics and data visualizations, Anson is an enthusiastic collector of classical music recordings (when physical media was still a thing) and fountain pens – a perfect blend of appreciation of technologies new and old.
Jeongyong Yoon is the Director of the Office of Planning at Ajou University, Korea, where he oversees university development strategies, campus master planning, and institutional evaluations. With over 20 years of service at Ajou University, he has extensive experience in higher education administration, including 15 years dedicated to international collaboration and education. He participated in the Fulbright IEA Program in 2004 and served as a board member of the Korean Association of International Educators (2017–2018). Currently, he is the Vice President of the Korean Association of University Planning Directors.
He holds an M.A. in Interpretation and Translation from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and a Ph.D. in Education from Ajou University. His research focuses on metacognitive knowledge and individual differences in second language learners. He has presented at several forums such as QS APPLE, APAIE, the Korean Association of International Educators, and the Korean Council for University Education, sharing insights on strategic planning and global engagement in higher education.
Dr. Snow Wang is the Head of Institutional Research and Branding Office at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. She has worked extensively in university rankings and research performance evaluation in Mainland China, Hong Kong and New Zealand. She has worked as the Ranking Director at Shanghai Ranking and was in charge of developing, computing, and publishing all rankings at Shanghai Ranking, including the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). In her previous roles at Hong Kong Baptist University and Massey University in New Zealand, she worked closely with leadership teams to influence the understanding and implementation of research assessment in higher education and foster research engagement initiatives, thereby contributing to the advancement of higher education and research impact.
Kunihiko Takamatsu is a Professor of Institute Management in the Office of Institute Strategy at the Institute of Science Tokyo. His main work focuses on institutional research in the university and university reform in higher education through eduinformatics. He received his Ph.D. in Medical Science, specializing in Molecular and Cellular Biology, from the Graduate School of Medicine and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tokyo in 2004. After completing his Ph.D., he worked as a research associate and researcher at the RIKEN Institute. In 2008, he joined Kobe Tokiwa University, where he held various positions, such as assistant professor, lecturer, and associate professor. He received the 2017 IIAI Outstanding Paper Award, the 2018 Artificial Intelligence Society’s 1st Knowledge Graph Inference Challenge Best Resource Award, the 2019 Best Idea Award, the 2021 First-Year Education Society Practice Award, and in 2023, the Honorable Mention Award from the International Institute of Applied Informatics (IIAI). Since August 2023, he has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Higher Education Planning in Asia Association (HEPA).
Vivian is the Manager of Institutional Data at the Office of Institutional Data and Research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She manages institutional performance analytics, peer benchmarking, and rankings analysis, transforming data into actionable insights for institutional planning. Vivian holds a Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience (Thesis-Based) and has a strong interest in brain science and human behavior.
Dr. Suh is Vice President of Quality Assurance at aSSIST University.
He has been the director of AIUC(Ajou Institute of University Competitiveness) and the dean of School of Business of Ajou University.
Before joining Ajou, Dr. Suh was a professor of industrial & Management Engineering of POSTECH for 28 years, and served POSTECH as Special Adviser to President , and Chair (Dean) of Globalization and Excellency Committee.
During his tenure, POSTECH achieved No. 28 by Times Higher Education (THE) in the world, the highest rank any Korean university has ever achieved. POSTECH reached No.1 in the world among young universities under 50, and was consistently ranked Top 10 in Asia.
As a university ranking specialist, he is currently the president of URFK (University Ranking Forum of Korea), a nation-wide forum with 40 top universities’ participating. .
As a nationally and globally known scholar in university competitiveness and global visibility, he is a frequent invited speaker at diverse conferences of HEPA, THE, QS, Clarivate, and Elsevier. He has advised several universities successfully in university rankings and global visibility in Korea, Japan, China, and Germany.
As a founding member of the HEPA (Higher Education Planning in Asia) Forum, now he is on the committee of the organization.
Dr. Suh has graduated the prestigious Kyunggi High School and received B.S. at Seoul National University, M.S. at KAIST & Stanford University and a Ph.D. from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA.
Jun-ichi Imura is executive vice president for institute strategy at Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo). He also serves concurrently as a professor at the School of Engineering.
Before his current position, Imura was executive vice president for education at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) from 2022 to 2024, executive officer from 2021 to 2022, and vice president for teaching and learning from 2018 to 2022.
After earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from Kyoto University in 1988 and 1990, respectively, Imura spent four years at the university’s Faculty of Engineering as an assistant professor from 1992 to 1996. During this period, he was awarded his Doctor of Mechanical Engineering degree in 1995.
Imura was an associate professor at Hiroshima University from 1996 to 2001. He also spent one year as a visiting researcher at the University of Twente from 1998 to 1999. Imura joined Tokyo Tech’s Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering as an associate professor in 2001, becoming a professor in 2004. He was named a professor at the School of Engineering in 2016. From 2018 to 2022, he was director of the Tokyo Tech Academy for Leadership (ToTAL) and director of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL).
Imura’s research interests include control theory and its applications to power grids, biological systems, and transportation systems. He served as an IEEE CSS Board of Governors member in 2010, 2013, and from 2015 to 2017, and as general chair of IFAC World Congress 2023. He also has been a program officer of Fusion Oriented Research for Disruptive Science and Technology (FOREST), Japan Science and Technology Agency, since 2020.
