Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland is New Zealand’s leading university.


The University of Auckland is the only one included in the Times Higher Education top 200 and, at 85th in the world, is the highest-ranked New Zealand university in the QS World University Rankings (2022). It is also in the Top 10 globally in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings (2021). Around 35 per cent of the top-ranked academic researchers in New Zealand are at the University of Auckland.



The University of Auckland is located in the heart of the city and within easy walking distance to a multitude of accommodation options to suit all budgets. The university supports conference activities to provide opportunities to disseminate research and connect New Zealand research and practice with the global community.



The Faculty of Engineering has recently been upgraded, with a 12-storey building added to the complex. The venue is modern, spacious and sophisticated. Plenary sessions can be held in two 250-seat theatres with tiered seating. Supported by two 64-seat seminar rooms and five small meeting rooms for workshops and tutorials. The building’s foyer space, with lots of natural daylight can be broken into 5 areas for multi-purpose use. All rooms are equipped with advanced audio-visual equipment and presentation recording facilities.
